Afaik he tolerated no support for calls for violence whatsoever on his instance. Which is his freedom to do as his line of moderating, but obviously brought him into conflict with the beliefs of many on Lemmy
Well it’s low effort and loses a lot of nuance in the way it draws its maps, so there is that
The developers of Fedi software have different philosophies. Some developers are just not interested in implementing and supporting all kinds of AP actors, kinds of media, ways of attaching media etc. Because they want their software to focus on a certain thing.
Others want to implement everything and interconnect with every platform.

Absolutely true for the time the article was written (2017). He changed his ways after the Christchurch attacks which happened in 2019.
I’ve seen stuff from minds.com on my mastodon timeline quite a while ago, so it must have been at least some time now that they’re federated
I recently went to google the name of the last capital of Western Rome, and the autocomplete was “what was the last capital of Assyria?”
And ironically, even the things listed here on the lower levels arent obscure or anything, they’re just lesser known because even history nerds often overlook African history
