The book was soooo good. Easily one of my favorites of all time. I hope the movie doesn’t suck!

The phrasing for the 2008 frame isn’t right. Should be “Are you too good to flip burgers?” Or “Is flipping burgers not good enough for you?”
Yeah but I said in the best case. In the best case, your randomization is correct so you don’t need to check it
Yeah, stupid autocorrect. And verifying ain’t the same as doing. I’ll come in, I’ll “sort” your data, and I’ll do it damn fast. You want verification that’s extra!
Boho sort is O(1) in the best case scenario

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was a friction or annoyance plaguing you that you finally resolved recently?
10·2 months agoIn our guest house, whenever the laundry machine ran, half the lights would go out. It was due to the drain hose having a small leak. The water seeped down and shorted an outlet in the crawl space. So I had to:
- fix the drain hose
- replace the main water disconnect valve that randomly wore out and got stuck in the off position (learn about pex, buy and use a crimper tool)
- replace some rotten wood
- replace shorted outlet with GCFI
- replace crawl space skirting I broke when investigating
Ah, good times. But now it’s all fixed. For now.
Just cut out the middleman and order the Mountain Dew Code Red for me already

- metube (web gui for yt-dlp)

- pdfDing (foss for pdf library mgmt)
- netbird (in lieu of ddns, I use this self hosted vpn to connect to stuff when I’m not local)
- caddy (maybe similar to ngnx, this lets me use custom names so I don’t have to remember ip/ports to connect)
- heimdall (simple static dashboard)
I asked AI if it was Pandora’s Box and it said no.
Side note that I find hilarious: predictive text on my phone keeps suggesting “Pandora’s Door” for whatever reason

It’s a frontend for yt-dlp and whenever I want to watch something I just download it and have a copy saved locally. It makes it harder to binge youtube feeds that the algorithm tries to shove down my throat, and that’s a good thing.

Haha, kidding of course. This is cool!

Meh. Trailers are dumb begin with. I typically don’t watch them at all. I watched a few seconds of this before deciding I was 100% going to watch this movie, so I closed it.
In this particular case, I think the existence of the co-star isn’t really a secret worth keeping because their evolution as friends is what makes the story so great.
