It’s so cool to learn about all the different types of feathers. From ones that are just from insulation to ones that help them hear, they can serve so many different purposes for the birds.

I’ve seen people say fish owls and fishing owls don’t have as many sound reducing features to their feathers as other owls due to their primary prey being under running water so they wouldn’t hear them anyway. Haven’t found what I’d consider to be a primary resource on that yet though.
